Investigation on Milling Quality of Stone–Plastic Composite Using Response Surface Methodology

To improve the cutting quality of stone–plastic composites, a series milling experiments were performed using response surface, binary, and microanalysis methodologies, paying special attention to effects parameters (rake angle from 6° 14°, spindle speed 5000 rpm 7000 rpm, feed rate 10 m/min 20 m/min, depth 0.5 mm 2 mm) on machined surface. Surface damage was mainly concentrated crest two axial sides wave, with cracking pitting identified as main patterns. These determined that optimal conditions for composite minimal surface roughness are rake 10°, 37.9 m/s, per tooth 0.32 mm, mm. The mathematical model developed these results is highly reliable could be used prediction optimization during industrial manufacturing composites.
